Uva is a district in Sri Lanka known for its fine highland teas. These include black teas that are grown at altitudes from 1,200m. The tea gardens are located east of Adam's Peak and up to 2,000m altitude, the highest quality tea is harvested mainly from July to September. Here grow particularly full-bodied, strong and tangy teas, which are also gladly used for strong mixtures. But the high-quality black tea is pure pleasure as well.
